Although not a big numbers year for Walleye, 2010 was consistant most of the year. With the early ice out about April 4th, 2010, the year started out great early and continued steady all year.
After catching many nice fish in spring, Mike Domini caught a 29 1/2 inch Walleye in early July. It was his biggest by 3 inches and was quickly released. He caught this on a 9" Perch Grandma bait.
In August while night fishing for Musky about 11:00pm, Matt Domini caught the Walleye pictured here. The picture does not do it justice! This Walleye was a BRUTE!! We all exclaimed "it's 10 plus" when it hit the net. We were shocked to find it "only" measured 28 1/2 inches! After some deliberation Matt decided to also release his Walleye. We were all bummed to not get this fish on a scale. However someday soon this fish will top 12 lbs!! It was one of the thickest, broad shouldered Walleyes I have ever seen. It hit a Perch Depth Raider.
Finally in late December I caught my largest Walleye ever! 30 7/8 inches and 10 and 1/2 pounds. When I finally landed it (fishing by myself) my first thought was "well it's not as fat as Matts"!!
Of course all three fish were caught on a Moon phase!!
